Labor Day is meant to recognize and celebrate the efforts and achievements of all American workers, but working in manufacturing gives you a deeper appreciation for the holiday. Labor Day is celebrated on the first Monday of September, and has been ever since it was legally made a holiday by congress in 1894.
There were a number of contributing factors that led to the American labor movement, but the working conditions in manufacturing plants certainly played a big role. Labor Day celebrates the American labor movement which helped establish rights for workers and regulations for companies.
