Machines have lots of moving parts, and the more moving parts that there are, the more likely it is that something will eventually need fixing. While Indramat products are highly reliable, you may encounter occasional error codes. Indramat F error codes are one of the most common types of Indramat error.
Some error codes are merely inconvenient, while others will make you want to pull your hair out. However, it’s not knowing what’s wrong that causes the most panic. Here’s some information to help you process and correct Indramat F error codes.
Understanding Indramat F error codes
There are four different classes of F error code. The first two characters tell you what class the error code falls under. The drive responds differently, depending on the class of the error code.
The four types of F error code are:
- F8XX is the code for “fatal”. When this type of code appears, the default drive reaction is to reduce torque to zero.
- F6XX is the code for “traverse range”. The drive will set speed command to zero when this error code appears.
- F4XX is the code for “interface”. The drive will react by selecting the best possible decel set.
- F2XX is the code for “non-fatal”. As with the “interface” class errors, the drive will select the best possible decel set.
If the error is detected while the drive is in control, the drive will automatically respond by performing the default drive reaction for the error class.
The last two characters are unique to the specific error code that is being shown. Knowing the class doesn’t necessarily tell you what you need to know to fix the error, but it at least gives you a general idea of what is wrong with your system.
