Indramat servos are among the best motion control products ever made. Your Indramat servo drives and servo motors will live long, happy, maintenance-free lives assuming that the conditions are right. Here are a few things that you should keep in mind when it comes to preserving your Indramat servos.
Think about the environment
Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, the quality of the electricity, and even elevation influence the performance of your servos.
Indramat DKS servo drives for example…
- DKS drives are designed to operate without derating at elevations up to 1000 meters, or 3,280 feet, above sea level.
- You must store and ship Indramat DKS servo drives in temperatures no lower than -20°C (-22°F) and no higher than 85°C (185°F).
- The ideal ambient temperature range during operation is between 41°F and 113°F.
- DKS drives should not operate with an ambient temperature over 131°F.
You can find this information for your specific Indramat servos in your Indramat technical guide. Of course, many Indramat owners haven’t seen their manuals in a few years. Contact us for a replacement Indramat manual.
Maintain your servos
A little attention goes a long way when it comes to Indramat servos. Fixing a broken blower or repairing the climate control cabinet can maximize the life of your drives and motors. Controlling the environment and keeping your machinery clean is often all it takes to get the most out of Indramat servos.
Of course, sometimes you’re faced with a more serious problem: one that shuts down your entire system. You can’t disassemble your servos and work on them right there in your factory. That’s what factory repair is for.
Let us evaluate your Indramat motion control system. We can even assist you with a factory repair or remanufacture to restore your servos to like-new condition.
